Pre-Painted Galvanised Iron (PPGI)

PPGI is usually pre-painted galvanized iron with a hot-dip galvanized steel substrate, also known as pre-coated steel, coil-coated steel, color-coated steel, etc.
This term is an extension of the traditional abbreviation GI for galvanized iron. Today, the term GI usually refers to essentially pure zinc (>99%) continuous hot-dip galvanized steel, as opposed to batch dipping processes. Pre-Painted galvanized iron refers to factory pre-painted galvanized steel, where the steel is painted before it is formed, rather than after it is formed. The metal melting process is also used to manufacture steel sheets and coils with factory painted aluminum or zinc/aluminum, zinc or iron, zinc or aluminum/magnesium alloy coatings. GI is sometimes used as a generic term for various hot-dip galvanized metal-coated steels, but more specifically refers only to galvanized steels.
Similarly, PPGI is sometimes used as a generic term for various pre-painted metal-coated steels, but more generally refers more specifically to pre-painted galvanized steel. PPGI & PPGL sheets are also very similar. Both of them have advantageous features, such as excellent corrosion resistance, formability, and ease to paint on. Both are widely used in Construction, Shipbuilding, Vehicle manufacturing, furniture, electrical industry, and so o
